The kindergarten program (ages 5-6) fosters children’s early interests and extends their developing academic skills. Reading and math skills are advanced through manipulative and creative activities and play as well as paper and pencil exercises. Students begin to put their own sentences in writing. They emphasize the use of phonetic spelling as they build confidence in a new form of communication, thus preparing them for 1st grade, where grammar, punctuation and sentence structure are formally introduced.
Classroom materials and experiences are designed to help your child acquire visual and auditory perceptual skills; to develop autonomy and self discipline; to increase physical dexterity; to enhance cooperation in a group setting; and to further develop cognitive processes.
Students are introduced to technology at computer and audio centers, and enjoy interactive activities on the class SMARTBoard.
We can accommodate both full and part time schedules, but the minimum is 5 half days.
