Students receive grades in all classes. Progress Reports are sent home at mid-quarter and report cards at the end of each quarter.

In addition, students compile a portfolio representing their work and twice yearly meet with parents and teachers in a conference to talk about their progress and what they have achieved. All students take the  ERB achievement tests each spring.  One in five VBFS Middle School students rank 97% or higher Nationally on this test.
