The National Middle School Association recommends curriculum that is relevant, challenging, integrative, and exploratory. We have created a Thematic Unit approach to integrate subject matter that runs across disciplines each nine weeks emphasizing active learning experiences with connections between science, social studies, literature, language arts and math. We recognize and promote intellectual growth in young adolescents as their thought processes mature and they begin to develop abstract thinking. We study four units per year for a total of twelve units through Middle school.

Some examples of thematic Units include:

  • Water
  • Africa
  • National Parks
  • Inventors and Inventions
  • Arctic Circle
  • United Nations
  • Asia
  • Immigration
